Privacy Policy

“Tonight”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the team building the Tonight app and the website at withtonight.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information for visitors to this website and people who join our founding-member waitlist. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Waitlist details. When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address and the city or postcode you submit.

Usage data. Like most websites, we automatically receive some technical information when you visit — for example your approximate location (from your IP address), browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through the analytics tools described below.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, date of birth, or any payment information on this website.

• To email you when Tonight launches in your city, and occasional updates about the launch.
• To understand which cities have the most interest, so we can decide where to launch next.
• To measure how the website and our ads are performing, and to improve them.
• To protect the site from spam and abuse.

We rely on your consent (given when you submit the form) and our legitimate interest in launching and improving Tonight as the basis for this processing.

We use a small number of third-party providers to run the site. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:

• Supabase — stores the waitlist (your email and city/postcode) in a secure database.
• Resend — sends the welcome email and launch notifications to your address.
• Vercel — hosts the website and provides privacy-friendly, aggregate traffic analytics.
• Google Analytics 4 — helps us understand site usage and traffic sources. We do not send your email or city to Google.
• Meta Pixel — measures the performance of ads we run on Facebook and Instagram. We do not send your email or city to Meta.

Some of these providers are located in, or store data in, the United States and other countries, so your information may be processed overseas.

Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser to measure visits and ad performance. You can block or delete these through your browser settings, or use a browser extension that blocks trackers — the website will still work normally. Vercel's analytics do not use cookies.

We keep your waitlist details until Tonight has launched in your city and you've had the chance to join, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first. If we decide not to launch in your area, we'll delete your details within a reasonable time.

• Unsubscribe — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
• Access or correction — you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
• Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information entirely.

To make any of these requests, email privacy@withtonight.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and always within 30 days.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep the amount of data we hold small and well-protected.

Tonight is not intended for people under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a minor has given us their details, contact us and we'll remove them.

We may update this policy as Tonight grows — for example when the app itself launches. We'll change the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we'll let waitlist members know by email.
